Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Maitreya

 

Sai Baba is a teacher or guru in south India with an enormous following.  Hundreds of thousands, perhaps one or two million people from all over the world would claim to be His devotees.  These followers see Him as God, the creator of the universe.  He is a cosmic Avatar.  Sai Baba and Maitreya both embody the same energy - what we call the Christ principle, the energy of Love - Sai Baba at the cosmic level, Maitreya at the planetary level. 

Maitreya comes from our Earth evolution.  He is not from outside this planet.  He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last - the first of early humanity back in Atlantean days to ‘achieve', become divine.  You become divine when you have taken the third initiation.  In those days, that was the highest initiation that an Earth man could take.  Today, it is only the third of five initiatory experiences which make you a Master, a God-Man.  Maitreya was one of a small group who took the third initiation at that time.  Another was the Buddha.  Maitreya is the last of that group to remain with humanity.  Others have gone on, outside this planet or solar system.  Some have gone to the higher centre, Shamballa, as the Buddha has done, having given up a physical body to be on Shamballa.  Maitreya, on the other hand, has remained with us, in the Himalayas, during all that time.  That is what is meant in the Bible by the Alpha and Omega. 

Sai Baba is a cosmic visitor.  He is a Spiritual Regent.  Since our Planetary Logos cannot take dense physical manifestation, He calls in, from time to time, numbers of avatars or ‘regents' to stand in for Him.  Just as in the outer world, if a king dies and has a son too young to become king immediately, a regent is chosen, usually an uncle or cousin, to take over the throne until the boy grows up. 

Avatars bring in cosmic energy.  They ‘come from above' down into this world in response to human need.  They stand in for God or the Logos of this planet.  Such an avatar is Sathya Sai Baba.  There are always several avatars at any given time.  Ramakrishna and Ramana Maharshi were avatars. The line from Babaji down to Yogananda was a line of avatars. Some avatars are completely unknown; They give no teachings, no one has ever heard of Them, but Their presence here sustains the world.  Without that presence, this would be a much sorrier world than it is.

  • M y mission is to spread happiness, and so I am always ready to come among you...
  • T rue freedom consists of recognising and realising this Heart or Divine Principle; knowing which, one becomes the knower of everything. Perfect freedom is absolute desirelessness. Ask for what I have come to give, Liberation!
  • T he Purpose of life is to grow in love, expand that love and to merge with God who is Love, and this is best done through service. 
  • I only ask that you turn to me when your mind drags you into grief or pride or envy. Bring me the depths of your mind, no matter how grotesque, how cruelly ravaged by doubts or disappointment. I know how to treat them.
  • H ands that help are holier than lips than pray. 
  • W e shall know no peace until we serve. It is an inner urge to experience a sense of kinship with all mankind, with all life — but we must serve without a sense of duty. Duty without love is deplorable; duty with love is good; love without duty is Divine. 
  • Y ou may not get a chance to partake in some gigantic scheme of service through which millions may be benefited. You can lift a lame lamb over a style, or lead a blind child across a busy road. That too is an act of worship. 
  • S ervice must be genuine effort to remove the suffering of others. There should be no sense of superiority or patronage. Do not worry about the result. Help as much as you can, as efficiently as you can, as silently as you can, as lovingly as you can. Leave the rest to God, who gave you the chance to serve. 
  • L ove all... Serve all! If you lift the hand to serve, to help, to console, to encourage another man, you are lifting it for God. Service to man is service to God.
  • T he goal of life is to experience the sweetness of Divine Love.

The Avatar
From Age to Age
Comes forth for you and me,
But O Mankind
Why art you blind
That ‘TRUTH' you do not see?

O man awake
And heed ‘The Call'
That comes from ‘ONE ABOVE',
Who... thru' All Time
Brings Truth Sublime
And the Message of His Love!

Divine He comes
In Human Form
To ‘play' this Mortal Role,
His Healing Stream
Of Love Supreme
Flows out to every soul.

So tirelessly
He Gives to All
In treating us to follow,
From every land
With heart in hand
Towards a bright tomorrow.

And... by His Life
He quietly shows
Just how it can be done,
By deed and prayer
With Loving Care
The Battle can be won!

For...
How many life-times
Have we spent
In pain... and wondered why,
Was it by chance
With scarce a glance
We had watched Him... pass on by?

So... lend a hand
Don't let Him down
Just do what you can do,
Doesn't matter at all
If it's great or small
He has a task for you!

No matter what
Your Path might be
‘The Message' He'll impart,
Is Listen to
The Voice Within...
The Conscience in your Heart!
